European Architectural Awards Launch:
A call for entries has been issued for the 2007 COPPER IN ARCHITECTURE AWARDS – including a special award for the best European architectural projects. An entry form can be downloaded from this website.
The well-established Copper in Architecture Awards recognise excellence in design and attract entries from around Europe. Previous winners have enjoyed extensive international press coverage and represented the very best in contemporary architecture, ranging from landmark projects to more modest but nonetheless innovative buildings. To be eligible, all entries must incorporate cladding, roofing or other architectural elements of copper or copper alloys, such as bronze.
This design-led competition includes a specific award for the best recently completed buildings in European countries participating in the European Copper in Architecture Campaign. These countries are: Austria, Benelux, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. There is also a discretionary award for innovation in specific areas of relevance today, such as sustainable building, economical construction, prefabrication, conservation or new uses of the material.
Architectural awards will be judged by a panel predominantly of practising architects at the forefront of design in Europe.
A pdf entry form can be downloaded from this page and further details are available from the www.cda.org.uk/arch website. For further queries phone +44 1442 275705, fax +44 1442 275716 or e-mail helpline@copperdev.co.uk.
